Java Developer

Position Description:

• Support the development efforts of a complex, mathematically based, real time, web-based multiple-shift labor scheduling system.
• This position involves working with Java/SWING, Tomcat 5.0, DBMS (Oracle, SQL Server), or MySql.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Maintaining one or more defined components of scheduling system
• Providing enhancements including but not limited to changing data structures
• Optimizing database access
• Changing graphical user interfaces, to one or more existing components and developing new components for scheduling system
• Contributing to requirements identification

Position Requirements:

• Developer with Mathematical Orientation
• At least 4 years of JAVA Programming experience
• At least 2-3 years experience with SWING
• Strong documentation skills
• Knowledge of J2SE development environment
• Knowledge of XML Messaging, XML Schema, XML Parsing
• Knowledge of SCM Tools such as ANT and CVS
• Knowledge of Servlet, JDBC
• Experience in using automated testing tools is a plus
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Exposure to: TCP/IP analysis/Troubleshooting, Continuous Integration
• Evidence in implementing mathematical algorithms using Java a strong plus
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or Information Systems or
• B.S. or M.S. in Operations Research with substantial programming content including Java
